I was craving yesterday for krispy kreme doughnut and the nearest store here in Nueva Ecija is 2 hours drive away.. GOSH.. so I search here in google how to make your own Krispy Kreme original glaze :)) And it came up really good, not as soft and light as K.K. but taste like K.K. and a 1 way nearer to it! :)) here's the recap of the ingredients..
YOU WILL NEED:
5 cups of all purpose flour
2 pkg. of active yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk (scalded and cooled)
1 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
DIRECTION
1. Pour yeast into lukewarm water then desolve.
2. Add milk, salt, shortening, sugar and 2 cups of flour. Stir for about 2 minutes using an electric mixer in low speed. Hand mixer will also do.
3. Stir continuously and add the remaining flour. Beat and fold for 2 minutes.
4. Place a cloth over the bowl with dough and let it rest for about 60 minutes.
5. Pour flour into the table and start rolling the dough. Using a donut cutter cut it for about 1/2 thick.
6. Let it rest again for about 30 minutes.
7. Heat a pan with vegetable oil for about 350 degree. Make sure that the pan and oil is hot enough.
8. Fry the doughnut about 30 seconds each side or until the dough become light brown like the original K.K.
9. After all the doughnut were cook. Sprinkle the glaze or add some marshmallow or chocolate like what i did. :))
10. YUM YUM
